Ed's Military Items Collection available December 2025
This page is in addition
to and supersedes my previous page https://www.themisfit-toys.com/Pages/Military%20Collection.htm
since some of the items listed
there have been sold or are otherwise no longer available.
There are however many good photos of items still available for purchase.
As with my previous web page any prices are simply a guideline for those unfamiliar
with current prices. I am flexible and will always discount a total cost when
multiple items are purchased. I try to mark any known reproductions as such.
Cases medals are seen in are usually modern and not the original presentation
boxes unless stated. Most items are photographed inside cases or plastic
protective boxes or packaging to protect them. Feel free to ask all questions
and I will do my best to answer. I do not know everything but have met a few
people who seem to think they do.
I encourage everyone to look at my collection in person and to examine anything
they may want to purchase. I have a UV light, magnets, a magnifying glass and
an electric magnifying scope for thorough examinations. I am willing to sell
through the mail and accept PayPal or Zelle in person or through
the mail.
My collection is a result of many decades of collecting from people around the
world and I have been cheated a number of times so I am not insulted if someone
challenges the authenticity of any items. I have collected these things mostly
because of my love of history and of the artistic value of the items. My collection
begins with some items from our Revolutionary War and continues wiht a few items
from the American Civil War, the Indian Wars and then to the World War. From
there I obtained items from the AEF the French and the German armies. The political
and military items from the end of the Weimar government and the rise of the
National Socialist Party. I added from the great wealth of items available from
the second world war from all sides. I have just a few items from the war in
Korea and mostly shoulder patches from units in Vietnam. I have a small number
of Soviet items but sold all of my Japanese things. I have one case of Italian
Fascist items.
It is difficult for me to organize this collection so please look through everything. I have multiple photos of some items. In some cases you can simply refer to the case the item is in or what it is displayed along side of.
First is a case of items mostly related to the
Hitler Youth Organization. 1

If you have not seen the items on my first webpage you should take a moment to visit it at (Click here ->) First page of Military Collectables
Because not everyone is interested in unit patches I placed my collection of them on another page simply go here GO!
Currently scans of aproximately 92 Patches
Almost in conjunction with the Vietnam patches I have a small collection of POW and MIA bracelets from the early 1970's when people with concern over our missing soldiers kept them in mind by wearing a bracelet with a missing soldier's name and information on it. When many POWs were released a lot of people got the pleasure of meeting the person named on their bracelet and in most cases giving it to them. In the cases where the named person didn't come home and their fate was never known the people with bracelets often put it away and gave up hope they were still alive somewhere. Currently I have four of the bracelets and have no idea if the named person was ever accounted for. Here they are for you to look at or purchase.
I have only this one card

"Augenschuten"
Here are three uncommon items. Through most of the war(S) the German military used dispatch riders to communicate in person with orders or information to various units especially when under heavey artillery bombardment that destroyed telephone lines between units. Adolf Hitler had performed this dangerous duty for most of his five years of front line service in the first world war. Using motorcycles when possible made things much faster and atmospheric conditions could change rapidly and without warning so the men were given folding 'glasses' either tinted to protect their eyes from the sun or with tiny perforations to protect the eyes from dust or desert sands and still allow the man to see. Each of these three came from different sources and each had never been opened as far as I could tell. Naturally people opened the protective envelopes to examine the glasses but they remain like-new.

Swords and Daggers and parts for them
Possibly my most valued item in my extensive collection is a sword passed on to me from my father. I rarely show it and have no intention of selling it. It's future is likely to be simply passed on to my son. However, I do have other swords and edged weapons. I recently sold several Civil War type of swords I had displayed for many years along with items from the Confederacy on a wall in my 'Great Room'. I have a few more but since they are not original swords I won't place photos of them alongside my many genuine items. If interested simply inquire. I have one German Third Reich era sword available for sale. It is pictured here.
I have a small assortment of dagger parts and a few daggers.
